Unveiling the Reality of Reversing Type 2 Diabetes

INTRODUCTION

Reversing T2 diabetes is a transformative lifestyle shift that challenges conventional beliefs about food, mealtimes, and well-being. Contrary to common misconceptions, it’s not about constant hunger or extreme diets. Instead, it involves significant changes in how we perceive and engage with our daily habits.

Here I unravel my truth behind Type 2 Diabetes reversal, highlighting the importance of embracing a comprehensive lifestyle transformation.

Reversing T2 Diabetes is NOT:

• A diet – it’s a lifestyle CHANGE.
• Starvation – It affords your body the chance to reduce the amount of insulin that is pumped into your body when you’re insulin-resistant.
• Eating 3-5 meals a day. It’s about learning to eat only when you’re hungry or when you’re experiencing a Hypo.
• About stuffing yourself at meal time out of fear that you will not be hungry later – It’s about learning to stop eating when you feel satisfied. There’s a BIG difference between eating till you’re full and eating till you have to undo the button on your jeans.

Reversing T2 Diabetes is about CHANGE:-

• Changing everything you ever learned about food and meal times.
• Changing your understanding of fasting and its healing properties.
• Learning about foods that make you sick and foods that heal.
• Learning how walking for 30 minutes after a meal can help your insulin responsiveness. (insulin sensitivity)
• Learning to read food labels and be aware of what you’re feeding your body.
• Using healthy fats to fuel your body with energy as opposed to the outdated version of using glucose for energy.
• It’s about learning to love yourself enough to feed your body with what it needs to survive, as opposed to what it wants.

So as you venture on this journey to a long healthier lifestyle, things might feel a little hard in the beginning. You might not feel like eating as much because your body is using up stored fats, or you might feel hungrier because your body is getting used to a new way of eating. That’s okay – everyone is different.

Remember the simple rule: eat when you’re hungry, and stop when you’re full. Some of us will adjust to the changes more quickly than others.

Stop watching the clock when it comes to your meal times, and start listening to your body. Over time you will see a reduced intake of food, simply because if you follow the T2 reversal protocol, (which is one healthy fat balanced with one protein, balanced with two or three healthy vegetables and/or legumes). The fats will keep you fuller for longer and the amount of healthy carbohydrates from the veggies, won’t lead to excessive insulin spikes leaving you with blood sugar crashes and feeling hungry again just two hours after eating.

If you focus on a balanced diet with good fats, protein, and unprocessed carbs, your body will stay full and happier for longer.

This isn’t a quick-fix diet that promises to cure T2 diabetes in a short time. It’s a lifestyle change that helps your body handle insulin better. Those who understand this and give their bodies what they need each day will find success in the long run.

GIVE YOUR BODY WHAT IT NEEDS, NOT WHAT IT WANTS

It’s all about balance. It’s about eating healthy, real food. And real food does not come in a box or a packet that has been sitting on a shelf in a store for many, many months!

It’s about giving your body what it needs, not what it wants. And as your body adapts to this, it becomes healthy.

Remember this: A healthy body will either lose excess weight or pick up needed weight to function at its best. That’s why this new way of life is not a diet. If you get your HbA1c down to an optimal level, and get off all your medication, but then you start eating poorly again consistently (like you did before), you will relapse! You will become T2 diabetic again.

In the journey to wellness, embracing change is the key to unlocking the healing potential within your body. Just as a seed transforms into a thriving plant, your body can flourish when nurtured with the right changes. Be open to the transformative power of adapting your lifestyle, for it is in this embrace of change that the healing journey truly begins.
